Will the on-axis speed ring adapter for the PLM V2 be an optional accessory? If so, is there any chance it might be made available in advance of the long-delayed PLMs? I ask because I think it would be ideal to mate the adapter with a small, short-shafted shoot-through umbrella like, perhaps, the 43" Westcott collapsible or a chopped down Photoflex 30". That might be a match made in heaven.

The on axis speedring mount is an integral part of the V2 design and is not adaptable to other umbrella designs. VII will ship with both the on-axis speedring mount for Buff or Elinchrom lights as well as a 7mm off axis conventional mount. Either may be used.

Prunes! Thanks for the reply and explanation, Paul. Seems like an opportunity missed to expand the usefulness of the on-axis mount.

With the additional hardware included with the V2 PLMs, will prices be adjusted upward once they're ready to ship? I have a few pre-ordered.

No price increase anticipated. The V2 speed ring is a patent pending design and a very integrated, component based system. We're not about missed opportunities . . . we're after optimal design . . . can't just stick the speedring on another umbrella just like you can't just stick a Corvette engine in a Yugo.

You are a master of suspense, Paul. Can't I even see a CAD rendering? I promise not to show it to anyone else ;)

This should give you some idea of what the speedring mount looks like http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/conten ... 0050-10630

If I public CAD drawings I get jumped on for not publishing real pictures. No suspense intended.
