I just received my AB B800 and can't get it to mount on the extension arm of my C-stand. I want to use it shooting down on my product. It looks like there's a collar inside the stand mount. Does that remove to give me more room? My Zeus heads fit fine, but my B800 doesn't.

No, the inner collar does not remove. Be sure the tightening knob is loosened sufficiently (feel inside the mount, you should not feel the screw protuding). If the mount still does not fit, check inside and make sure there are no protrusions formed in molding. Also, the stand is designed for 5/8" mounts. Be sure the stand conforms to that spec.
