I understand that you want to have one size of part for all pieces of equipment. However, I am trying to argue my new Einsteins (which I love btw), into a case for travel. The issue is the black protective cap, and how extra l-o-n-g it is compared to how long it *needs* to be. I am pondering cutting an inch (maybe 1.5) off of the cap so it will fit in the case. There is almost 2" of extra cap that what is really needed. It would be nice if there was a shorter cap you could offer to help this fit into some of the more standard sized bags (Pelican 1050 for example). Just my 2 cents.

You can buy the shorter cap and remove the pyrex dome. Then you would need a carrying case for the the dome :roll:
