i have a b800 light. while changing a softbox ( w the light on) i think i shorted it by cross connecting the strobe contacts. there was sizzling & thick gray smoke. now the flash ring stays weakly lit constantly and the is a strong smoky smell (no smoke). modelling light works. changing flash ring makes no difference. strobe fires but not fully. my question, can you repair this or should i just trash it. thnx

Repair it. Most repairs are $40 for Aline Bees, and all repairs are far less than replacement.
