I have three of these units and I had the same problem, it must be a voltage or ground issue as it happens with different cameras and software. I use a radio pugged into the CompuScene to trigger the strobes to eliminate the problem. I would be interested to hear if there is a way to use sync cord when tethered.

Thanks to you, also, for your efforts in trying to solve the problem.
As you can probably determine the problem was not with the Compuserve but with a camera setting.

That was actually my first thought, though i don't know why it would fire a light but not the Compuscene in live view.
