As a test, connect one AB to the cameras via sync cord (and hotshoe adapter if needed). Turn off the speedlight and let the other ABs fire from their slaves. You will then see the real output of the bees. When you have a preflash present this fires the bees before the shutter even opens, so they are dark when the exposure is actually made.

Ahhh, so the sync cord, and I have the adapter, will work best.
These makes sense to me. No preflash with the sync cord.
