Just checking in...I haven't seen any updates on when the Einsteins are projected to ship.
Since it is the end of Jan. I am curious of the progress of final shipping units. Thanks for your time. posting.php?mode=reply&f=8&t=118&sid=9d9cc84b4ea315791ff9790c918858be#

I walk with a cane but i'd be glad to lend it to Paul so he could reposition this last gentlemans attitude. I also have a can of lithium lube of it doesn't glide just right.

Well, sadly, I ended up buying a home generator, due to the weather that I'm sure Paul's area was also experiencing, so I'm hoping that I'll still be able to purchase when they are ready... Better to be safe than sorry I guess. 2007 we were without power for just over 3 days, in sub freezing temperatures.

So while some are wanting them ASAP, I wouldn't mind if they were delayed a couple weeks... :?

Nothing wrong with your attitude - cane or lubricant not needed. Unfortunately we are still facing delays of another 3-4 weeks before we will be able to ship any Einsteins.

The delays are exclusively vendor related and were aggravated by the ice storms. There are growing global parts shortages and we are fighting to get enough parts in to do a decent production run. We are using this time to go over Einstein with a fine tooth comb to improve performance and reliability to the highest degree possible.

No one is more anxious to get this product out than I am and I am getting a Jeckel and Hyde reputation among vendors . . . the delays are costing me half a million dollars per month. I use and test Einstein pre-production units daily and am extremely happy with they results they are producing.

Not that I haven't done that before, but if you use strobes professionally, one would want to make sure you had the replacements in first before getting rid of the old units, unless of course you thought the two brands of strobes would get into a fight or something, being in the same room...

Sometimes ebay will get a hit and sometime you don't, I was just surprise I sold them, besides this setup seem to be way ahead of the other strobes with CC and I was trying to plan it just right. Sh*t happens

If you're used to profoto, the obvious thing to do is just rent them. They're fairly cheap to rent since they just about give the gear to places to rent out...

Supplier issues are always a PITA, but w/ the recession, no one wants to keep anything in stock...

Paul,
What does a"decent production run" equate to in numbers? Based on current parts supply etc., what do you anticipate the first production run number to be?
Regards,
Dom
