I just took delivery of a MicroSync kit with monoplug for my White Lighting 5000s... only problem is they don't make contact in the plug socket! :(

The receiver on the MicroSync has a single conductor (black stripe) and the WL sync cord plug has two black bands (two conductors?)... is this the problem? The radioslaves are fine, the flash works fine with the cordset, but nada with the radioslave... Please help!

If you're talking about the 1/4-inch phone plugs, it's true that the WL plug is a stereo plug (three conductors separated by two insulator rings, actually) while the microsync is probably a mono plug (two conductors separated by one insulator ring).

You would need an appropriate mono-to-stereo adapter cable with a stereo plug (male, that is) to go into the WL flash and a mono jack (female end) to take the Microsync plug.

This was resolved via phone. I believe the issue is that of sync voltage on the particular lights in question vs. the tolerance of the remotes.
