I am a newbie. thus the T2i... I am ready to pull the trigger on the beginner package, and wondering if the alienbee will work with my setup? Will I need to buy a remote or a pocket wizard.. or something else to trigger the alienbee? I'd like to use my 430 EXII but can not figure out how that would work. Thanks for your time, Steve |

If you want to use the 430 as an off camera flash to use along with the Bee, the most simple set up would be the CST, CSRB, SLFA and an umbrella adapter. Once the 430 fires, the Bee will fire (in most situations) in response via the Bee's slave eye. Alternatively, you can get a CSR or CSRB for the Bee as well to ensure both lights fire everytime. You would have to use manual settings on both the speedlite and Bee. With the umbrella adapter, you have the choice of using a standard photo umbrella or not, as well as full articulation. CST, CSR, and CSRB can be found here: http://www.alienbees.com/remotes.html SLFA can be found here: http://www.alienbees.com/parts.html (last item) An umbrella adapter can be found here, but is also available at other photo retailers: http://www.flashzebra.com/brackets/0041.shtml |
