This is probably way easier than I am making it, but Please Help!

I recently picked up a AB Med Octobox and need to mount it on an RPS / Elinchrom strobe.
What adapter Ring do I need?

Thank You in advance for your help

We do not offer a speedring to fit the Elinchrom mount. However, any standard speedring to fit Elinchrom should fit. The speedring is 7.5" in diameter, so make sure any that you buy are as well.

You just need any Elinchrom speedring that measures around 7.5 inches, the Elinchrom brand ones are ridiculously expensive so maybe look into buying a generic on Ebay or something.

I have several different brand speedrings laying around and they all work with my boxes (Larson, Chimera and the Paul Buff brand) it looks like most have pretty much the same outer diameter

I can purchase the speed ring and adapter for about $50 - since I already have a very functional speed ring I was hoping to save a few 4 and just get the adapter.
Does anyone have one they would take $20 for?

Cheers

FYI for this thread. I solved the mystery.

A Photek Illuminata Adapter Ring fits the AB / 7-1/2" Speed Ring. They are less that $14.

Scratch that. It doesn't fit.

Would the ring adapter size be different if the Octobox is the older non colapsible model?

The adapter ring measures 6"

Yes, the inner adapter plates are about 5.5" on the foldable and the standard speedring is about 6". Foldable adapter plates can be found here: http://www.porters.com/flash-studio/lig ... s.html?p=3 (and more on pg 4). These measure the same, but we have not tried them first hand.

No specific reccomendations for this. The best bet is to just buy a speedring for the light. Most will fit our softboxes, Chimera and Photoflex especially.
