Hello there PCB.

This evening I was out on a job and plugged my B1600's into the Vagabond mini and nothing, a slight glow in the strobes power light but dims out straight away. I knew it wasn't the strobes as I was using them powered by mains inside the property right before.

The 3 green power lights are lit on the Vagabond as well as the USB light, but the output seemed to be very low. I plugged an iPhone charger in the AC outlets and it acted like it was pulsing.

After reading a couple of post here I checked the battery voltage with multimeter and it's up around 16v, then I checked the AC output on both outlets which were reading about 70v. Not good, it feels warm after leaving it on and has that warm electrical smell. Not good again.

I feel like something has had it inside the Vagabond. It is a 240v model, treated very well and is less than 6 months old.

Please advise what the next step is, this will be an urgent matter.

Heath.

The lower AC Voltage sound like a FET issue. This would require the unit to come in for repair. Please contact our customer service team for assistance in having this unit serviced.

Thanks,

I emailed info/Melody and she said a tech will get in touch. Hopefully soon, I want to get it back ASAP.

Heath.

We've sold around 40,000 VMLs. Very few problems beyond batteries exhausted in 2-3 years and stand mount complaints. Of course, competitors have no stand mount at all.

That's great, Luap. I don't doubt it at all.

The PCB gear I have is great, I love it all and it's been perfect until last night when my VML it had no go. The battery life of it has been amazing too. But that doesn't solve my problem haha.

The stand mount is not even an issue in my mind, I would much rather sit it on the solid ground anyway and if you have an assistant well then the shoulder strap is perfect.
