I am planning on getting a softbox, but it will be used for air travel so I hope to be able to fit it in my luggage.

Can someone let me know the size of their large softbox (32x40) when folded or apart? Length is what I worry about since most luggage is less than 28 inches long. Please also let me know if you have the foldable or standard version.

Will the standard version be much more compact while it is apart compare to the foldable version?

Thanks everyone!

The 32x40 foldable softbox measures 30" long when collapsed, and about 8" in diameter (due to the built in speedring). The rods for the standard softbox are 29" long, and could easily be stored diagonally in a case. The standard is more compact when disassembled, as the speed ring can be stored parallell to the rest of the box.
