We have 5 einsteins and an ab800

Any single case that can carry everything?

How many einsteins will fit in a pelican 1510?

I don't think you could hold 5 E640s in that case and still have enough of the padding to do any good.

With the stand mount hardware, there is not a lot of room saving by opposing orientation. Rough estimation for 5 E640's with at least 2" of padding around the perimeter and between lights, would be 23x20x12 (interior dimensions), and that is a row of three and a row of 2 sitting upright. You would have some corner space for CSXCV and CC, but not for power cords and reflectors.

maybe i'd be better off with a pair of the pelican cases holding 3 each?

Maybe, but looking back at it, I don't think you can hod three either. Originally, I assumed the lights standing up, but the case is not deep enough for the lights with shipping covers and/or foam. Also, not sure what accessories you plan to place in there with them. Still not sure that reflectors and cords will fit.

would they fit longways on their sides? reflectors I can store elsewhere.

From the on line specs, it looks like the best way would be to have them stand mount (or umbrella screw) up. And the dome facing the hinges, and the screen facing the handle (or 180 from that).

In other words, a "side by side" arrangement rather than a "one on top of the other" arrangement.

They will fit, but just barely. Top of umbrella screw to bottom of stand mount (folded back) is right at 7".

You may want to look at the 1560 series. It is a little more, but you should be able to store the lights on end.

I'm using a Pelican 1620 for 2 Einsteins and 2 AB800s, as well as grids, reflectors, 4 speed lights, Pocketwizard flex's, mini, MC2's, cords, etc. I definitely recommend the lid organizer for the 1620 as well.

EDIT: I forgot to answer the primary question, lol. A Pelican 1620 can hold 5 Einsteins...

I ordered the Pelican iM2950 Storm Case
It's gonna hold up-to 8 Einsteins

My local case company is currently creating the foam partitions, hope it will be ready in a few days.
