Is there a point of using both of these together? The HOBD page says it has a 45 degree beam pattern and the grid restricts the beam to 40 degrees. Does not sound worth it to me. |

The 45° beam spread is the spread of the most intense light. Beam width is stated as the point that the output falls by 50% (one f) relative to the center, as measured in an arc with the light source as the point of the arc. The 40° grid will sharply cut off the light pattern at 40°. Without it, the light feathers out to 150° or so. Hope this helps. |

In other words BillyBlonde your 22HOBD is gonna do this... shoot out an intense cone of light - that will be surrounded by a super low intensity light. imagine a big grey circle with a smaller white circle inside it. The big grey circle is the low intensity light while the smaller white circle is the high intensity light. I hope that helps! |
