i have Canon 5D Mark3
White Lightening 1600
Yongnuo YN-560 II Speedlight Flash
2 Yongnuo RF-603 C3 2.4GHz Wireless Flash Trigger/Wireless Shutter Release Transceiver
CyberSync™ Trigger Transmitter
CyberSync™ Receiver Plus

I can use the Yongnuo as the master and the White lightening as the slave using the Yongnuo transcievers. But i cant seem to work it the other way around

I want to use the White lightening 1600 as the Master and the Yongnuo speedlight as the slave.
How can i make this work? Can it work?

Look up "optical slave" in the Yongnuo manual. You have to enable it.

I have tried it in both the S1 and S2 modes - and it does not fire. I have also tried having the white lightening 1600 wired to my canon 5D , and using the yongnuo triggers on the camera and speedlite- but it won't fire

When I have the white lightening wired to the camera and I use the yn triggers on the camera and yn speedlite as explained above the speedlite fires in Master mode and the white lightening fires as well - now can I make it work as an optical slave to the white lightening ?

Set the WL to minimum power and aim it at the optical sensor on the YN.

Sounds like you should be in S1 mode on the YN:

This is pretty simple stuff..it should work fine. Make sure the YN triggers and your camera are in manual mode. Some of the YN triggers support TTL and that's not what you want...
