I recently purchased two Einsteins and two Vagabonds (240V) from your UK distributor.

When I connect the Vagabonds to an Einstein I find that one of them is almost totally silent when connected and works correctly, but one which does not seem to work correctly.

This second Vagabond makes an audible buzzing noise when turned on, then when connected to the Einstein, the Einstein boots up but the 'Ready' light never goes green (so the test button doesn't result in a flash). The fan also quickly comes on with this Vagabond (which it does not with the other).

I have tried swapping the batteries but I get the same behaviour on the Vagabond with either battery.

Could you please advise whether I am doing something wrong, or whether I need to return this for replacement?

Thank you,
-Rob

Are you using the same Einstein with each Vagabond? Also, are sure the model lamp is off in each test?

Does the green ready light come on with both units when plugged in to the AC mains outlet in the wall?

I have just retested:

Mains power, Einstein A: Ready goes green, works normally.
Vagabond A, Einstein A: Ready goes green, works normally.
Vagabond B, Einstein A: Ready light stays red, vagabond buzzes.

Mains power, Einstein B: Ready goes green, works normally.
Vagabond A, Einstein B: Ready goes green, works normally.
Vagabond B, Einstein B: Ready light stays red, vagabond buzzes.

The modelling lamp is off on both Einsteins.

Something is wrong with the one Vagabond. It should be replaced.

OK.

Shall I contact the UK supplier? Do I want to return and replace the Vagabond including battery, or just the Vagabond without the battery?

You will need to contact the UK distributor. They will handle the return as well as make any considerations about what will need to go back.
