I was wondering if I have to have a modeling light installed in order to use my AB800. I tried to use it without a modeling bulb and my PW Mini 1 Flex TT5 with the AC9 and it actted really crazy!! It would pop the flash three time really quick then random, I thought maybe I had turn the PW wrong but nothing worked. So do I have to have a modeling lamp, or do I need to to have it looked at? :?:

No, the model lamp does not need to be installed. However, the model lamp switch needs to be on and the slider set to full. If the problem persists, you may have a ground problem. Remove any power strips or extension cords (as they may be faulty), and plug directly into the wall. You may also try another power cord or another outlet (on a different circuit).

These are tips we offer when similar behavior exists on our products. If there is a different source of the firing from the PocketWizards, then you will need to check with LPA (PocketWizard) for more insight.
