I've replaced the battery...changed channels but it's only setting off the flash intermittently - Please help! (used with the Cybersync CSR receiver)

I recommend starting at the flash head and working backwards to ensure the CST is what is at fault.

Does the light test consistently from its own test button?

Does the light consistently fire from the receiver's test button?

Does the light consistently fire from the CST's test button?

Does the light fire from the CST when in the hotshoe?

Does the light fire from the CST when using the PC cord from camera (or jumping the shield and pin) to the CST?

OK, the first step I listed was to test the light from its own test button. This is the square red button on the back of the light itself. Using this button, if the light does not consistently fire the light, the problem is with the flash and not the remotes. Try using another light if you have one.

If the flash fires fine from its test button, but not the receiver's test button, then the cord is likely to blame (though not always). Replacing the cord should fix it.

If the light is not firing from these locations, the camera and CST test buttons are not going to fire any more consistently, as the problem is localized to the flash and/or receiver.
