This is wierd. I wanted my sync cables (RJ-11 telephone cables) that run from the cybersync to the AB800 to be coil cables so I bought some coil phone cable, phone connectors and a crimper. I cut the cable to about 4 inches, stripped the ends, added the phone connectors and crimped them. I checked the cable ends to make sure the polarities were all correct but NONE of them work. When plugged in, I can't test fire at all.

This should have been a "slam dunk" DIY project but nothing worked. Is there something special about Paul Buff's cable that might be different from a standard coiled handset cable??

Double-check the quality of your work. Also be sure you're using 4-wire cables and 6-wire plugs. Six-wire cables or 4-wire plugs won't work.

You can use 4 or 6 wire equipment, but if you use 6 wire , isolate the outside two. Additionally, the cables needed are cross wired, meaning with the plugs in the same orientation, the wires on one should be 1234, while the others should be 4321.
