Is it ok to run an electric fan (for the purpose of fanning the model's hair) off of a surge protector connected to my vagabond II along with a B1600? Are there any recommendations of how much power the fan should draw (limitations etc)? I'll be at Costco looking for a fan later this evening that's why I ask :)

You can, however it will reduce the number of shots you will get, as well as reduce recycle times (both would vary depending on power). My desk fan here (8") has a .6A draw, so unless you get a giant ventilation fan, i doubt it will be much of an issue.

I wonder if a hair drier would work better because of it's focused output(set on cool of course). Though the amp draw may be too much at it's higher RPM than a fan. And it can be easily clamped to a light stand.

A hair dryer would almost definitely not work well. They only work well up close and they draw much more power than a standard floor fan. Otherwise girls would probably use floor fans more often to dry their hair! :D
