If the "fuel gauge" LED lights are still lit up when no power is available, then the issue is likely within the inverter. This would require the inverter to be repaired or replaced.
If the LED's on the "fuel gauge" go out when there is no power, the problem is likely within the battery, though it could be in the inverter. The likely course of action would be to replace the battery.
