I have two White Lightning X1600 Flash Units and on X800 I purchased these used over a year ago. I really love using them and they function very well even though I am not sure of the age these units. My only problem is that recently I noticed what I think might be an electrical leak from one of the X1600 units. I first noticed this when I grabbed the light stand that it was attached too and as I slide my hand down the pole I noticed what felt like a slight vibration on my hand. I then lightly press my fingers against the metal portion of the unit and slide my fingers across the surface and felt the same sensation. I quickly went to the other X1600 and the X800 and repeated the same steps and I did not feel any such thing. I have used it once more since discovering this but I am a little hesitant for safety reasons to continue it's use. I do need this third light. Am I nuts or is this a possible slight electrical issue? TIA -Jim |

This sounds like a bad ground in the electrical system. Make sure you are using a properly grounded (three prong) outlet (try using a different outlet as well). Remove any extension cords, and if necessary, try exchanging the power cord with a different light. If this cannot be resolved by using different power cords or outlet, you should contact Customer Service for more trouble shooting. |
