| Post subject: | Einstein Flash Unit Life? |
I recently acquired a couple of used Einsteins. One has a flash count of 21,000 and the other has a count of about 27,000. Is that considered very high use? What is the approx life expectancy of these? Thanks Mike |

The flash tubes hover in the 200K full power shot life expectancy (MTBF, meaning half fail be fore, half fail after, but it does not say how far either way, and does not mean average, and certainly not guaranteed). Reduced power will mean a longer life on the flash tubes, and replacements are $35. Internals and guts can vary widely as well. We have some units from the 1980's still going strong. 24,000 flashes is less than 100 per day, 5 days a week for a year. So, no, 20-30K is not a concerningly high shot counter. Also, repairs start at $45, should you need them. |
