Hi, I've brought my lights (Einsteins) out from storage from a two year layoff. The lights seem fine. I am wondering if I am having an issue with the meter on the Cybersync Commander.

I found a somewhat corroded Duracell and cleaned things out. With new batteries all seems fine.

However, the meter seems to always read near f8. Drop power all the way down... f8.x Take meter reading in a nearby dark room... f8.x. Place meter next to the bulb... f90. Hold hand over meter... f8.x. Increase power... f8.x

Change batteries again. No change. Factory reset. No change. Re-read manual... no change.

I have a shoot in two weeks... should I rush order a new commander? Anything else I can test, change?

Thank you

First, Be sure you are distinguishing between the test fire only function of the Cyber Commander (left joystick) and the fire+meter function (the right joystick). Only the right joystick will update the meter reading.

Next, go to SETUP, then FLASHMETER. Enter the FLASHMETER window, and you should see the letters "CAL" in the upper right. Make sure that is set to "0.0F". Also, in the upper left corner, be sure your shutter speed and ISO are set to match your camera.

Lastly, and you may have done this, go to SETUP>ADVANCED CONFIGURATION>FACTORY CALIBRATION then use the left/right function of the left joystick to reset it to factory calibration.
