Post subject:  DIY modifiers

Several years ago I shared my experience with a $20 globe used as a replacement for the $600 Profoto equivalent http://www.paulcbuff-techforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=643&hilit=globe. I recently finished my DIY gobo projector using a 100 watt LED for continuous video light. Then I thought of adapting it for use in still photography and the result is not bad, so, I thought I'd share a couple of samples that used 2 B800's, one with the old $20 globe to the left of the camera and the other with the gobo projector to the right of the camera, no ambient light at all. I hope you find it useful.

the GOBO projector is pretty cool. Do you have any images of the projector itself?

My solution for attaching the monolight to the rig is not very elegant, but it is simple and works well, allowing tilts of up to 60 degrees in either direction without moving.

I used craft wood to make the size B gobo holder. the lens if an old non AI 55mm Nikon, but any lens would do. A wider angle lens will work better in tight spaces.
