What is the power level of the model lamp, and the power level of the flash?

If the flash is set low and the model lamp is set high, then the model lamp will contribute to the overall exposure, which will include the color temperature shift. Also, if the model lamp is set to recycle indicator, then you will see some fluctuation in color temp and exposure, as the model lamp will vary in how quickly and how far it will dim on each shot. In these circumstances, the recycle function is fairly irrelevant, as recycling is almost instantaneous. I would suggest leaving the model lmap to stay constantly on.
