At 86" this umbrella takes up a lot of space. For those of you doing portraits, in what position are you mounting this unit? As your primary light on a lightstand above the subject at 45 degrees? Or as a fill light, level to the subject at 90 degrees?
In terms of handling the umbrella in a limited space (particularly an 8-foot ceiling height), I rarely try to put the light into a high "Rembrandt position" above the subject, unless the subject is on the floor. I more often direct it horizontally as window light would be, setting the subject toward the rear edge ("feathering") with a reflector on the other side.
