I have the db800, bought it at release. The flashtube looks like this:

No miss fires, nothing color temperature wise affected so far.

I see nothing wrong with the flash tube. It is normal for darkening to happen around the legs, inside the glass. That is the impurities in the Xenon burning off and collecting harmlessly. Eventually, it can appear very dark, but still nothing to worry about, as long as the light fires.
