I have a new CST and a new CSRB, which I happily received today. I am trying to fire a SB600 flash from my D90. After reading through the manual and the info I'm finding online, everything I'm doing is correct. The flash however is not firing. When I press the test button, they flash saying they are talking to each other. I have tried both sides of the hot shoe, both do nothing. I have attached the flash to my camera to make sure it wasn't the flash. (flash works fine). When I fire the camera the red light on the rec flash.

I think I may have received either a bad cable or possibly a bad hot shoe.

Any other thoughts?

If you got the adapter from us, be sure you got the one with a threaded hole in the bottom. If so, then it has two inputs, PC and miniphone. The CSRB has both cords, so try both to see if either will work.

Also be sure the flash is not set to a slave mode, and that it is set to manual mode.

Let me know what you find, and we will trouble shoot further.
