I bout my alienbees about 6 months ago. I loaned them out to a friend who decided to use them out in the desert. Glamis, CA to be exact. I just got them back and when I tried to attach my softboxes to AB's I get this crunching sound. I was planning on opening them up because I've noticed that there is a plate with the springs and maybe just opening it up to seperate it to remove the dust would help.

Anyways, what should I do? Send it in to have them cleaned or should I just do it myself.

Let me know!

Thanks,
Casey

we do not recommend opening them yourself. Just send them in. Since they are 6 months old, there should not be much, if any, charge to clean them.
