On the page for the retro reflector ( http://www.alienbees.com/22rlr.html ) there is a photo with the following caption...

"shot at the 11° beam position; taken midday in bright sunlight
(photo by Paul Buff, model: Deborah Buff)"

Really? Midday? Am I just missing the obvious sarcasm burger here or is there something else afoot.... :!:

Love the company and the products. Shoot all AB studio gear now!

I shot this at 3 PM, The sun was to the right and slightly behind the building. So the surface illuminated by the Retro Laser was in open shade so it's ambient illumination at the setting used was in the f4-f5.6 range. You can see the sunlight exposure on the trees to the right and on the portion of build at the far left. No tricks here.
