I won't agree or disagree with the above comments as far as compatability with TT and 580EXII's, other than to say it is often reported and addressed by PW. It sounds like the OP must have PW remotes. If not, I would go Cyber Commander/CyberSync, hands down. (and not just because I work here :))
The reason I suggest TT1/TT5 is because PW products are required (or all but required), and different features are available. The transmitter can still be used with E640's without the 580, and still benefit from the added features and not suffer from 580 noise. MultiMAX will allow for grouping more lights, intervolometer, and other sundry functions. If Richey Ritch was my dad, I would get one of everything. Otherwise, I think the TT system has more features that are usable in everyday settings for most photographers (among PW products)
My point was to state that the TT1/TT5 are what you read about the most when it comes to noise problems with the 580EX II, but that it is not the only PW product that it interferes with. I have several 580EX II strobes and PW Plus II transceivers and RF noise IS an issue, and a major one. Something to be aware of when getting the Multi Max.
Even with the little RF sock they sell, a longer cord, etc.....I still don't get good range. With the RF sock on, I get maybe double the crappy range I get without it on. The best I can hope for with a wall or other object in the way is about 25ft when using their RF shield. Using the same PW transceiver on my White Lightnings I've gotten an easy 600ft with objects in the way. I would get the PW stuff, just not that particular strobe or you *could* be unhappy with the PW/580EX II combo.
I've used my PWs with a Nikon SB900 and some sort of Nissin or something like that with no probs.
