| I know, I know. We have all heard it here before and here it goes again.
I can't believe I waited so long to get some Alien Bees and start taking pictures.....nope, not a pro, just a regular old guy trying to make the best photos I can. Always been disappointed with the Christmas, Easter, Birthday, you name it....photos.

So starting this summer I started looking at Alien Bees. New, used, whatever condition they were in, I looked at them. Ended up with a couple of B800's from a guy off of APUG that used them two times over the past year, and three White Lightening X1600's from a guy off the (don't hate me...) FM Forums. This guy loved his bees but was selling them because he got Einstiens. I bought all new PLMs and accessories for everything and am still trying to figure out where to go from here, but so far, my test pictures this afternoon infront of the Christmas tree with the American Girl doll and her favorite pink lamb helping to keep her seated came out wonderfully.

Honestly, I set the digital camera to manual, set two X1600 on half power, and it took four adjustments of f-stop on the camera and I was in the ball park. After checking how they looked on the computer, I did go back and take a real reading with a Seconic L-358.....yes, pictures do look better now after dialing things in with the meter.

Thanks to everyone who encourages others here to purchase these fine products that work so well together. I just hope nobody waits on the fence to get an Alien Bee......what a difference they make, my game is way up now.

 Thanks Paul!!
