This would be true with our lights and the extreme silver PLM, if by "better" you mean more focused. This is due to the relatively small size of the flash tube, which makes it more of a point source of light than a 6" long tube would. Additionally, white cannot be focused at all, only choked down (gridded), and the soft silver is less sensitive than extreme silver. Again, though, without the point source centering it would make a nominal improvement at best.
