After not using my cyber commander for a couple of months I recently had a local shoot. I put fresh batterys in. It turns on, but none of the functions (buttons) work. Also, the top of the screen where it shows the f stop to just below that is continuously refreshing itself. It looks like it's strobing, but it's actually the refresh going from right to left. I did try another set of batterys, no change.

Try removing the memory card and see what happens without the card installed.

This is a description I hae a hard time visualizing. It sounds like you are refering to the refresh of the screen (i.e. flickering, as display screens can) rather than the refresh indicators indicating the commands are refreshed.

The only time I have seen this characterisitc is if the left hand joystick is held up or down. Check the joysticks for range of motion or anything jammed under them.

Barring this and based on my understanding of the description of the problem, the unit will probably need to come in for repair.

Correct. I'm refering to the refresh of the screen. I've checked both of the joystics. Neither is caught and both have free range of movement. When I move either of the joysticks and hold it in any direction, the flickering stops but the screen still does not change. In other words it wont chane screens, bring up the menu, change chanels etc.

In that case, the unit will need to come for inspection. This is not a fault I have ever seen before. All information regarding repair can be found here: http://www.paulcbuff.com/repair.php
