Hello,
I had an issue during a session today with my WL800. This are the triggers I use (CSR+ CyberSync Receiver Plus (AC) and the CST CyberSync Trigger Transmitter. Anyways, during the session the light just started flashing on it's own. It was almost like I was pushing the test button but I wasn't it. So, I thought that maybe it was giving me a warning that the bulb was going out. I had a spare to replace so I put a new one in. When I turned it back on, it flashed once when I turned power on and then it was fine. I continued the session but then it was making a little "ticking' sound every so often. Just wondering if there is a problem or is there something wrong with it! :( Please help
Thank you,
Kerrie

One of two things. Depending on the age of the CST, this could be a product of a CST battery going bad. Pressing the test button should make the LED blink red. One blink means the battery is OK. Multiple blinks or no blinks, the battery is near or completely exhausted.

Alternatively, there could be a grounding issue on the AC line you are using. This would only be an issue if you are using the telephone cord, and you should not be, if you are not using the Cyber Commander.

ok, so I pulled out the CST...pushed the test button and it blinked red once. I replaced the battery a few months ago.

I don't know about the grounding issue I don't use a telephone cord....I just plug it into an outlet and the power goes right into the CSR+ So, it wouldn't have been an issue with the bulb? :(
Not sure what else it could be.

What about the ticking noise...does that signal a problem? I have only had it about a year and a half :(

To be clear, I mean the telephone cord from the CSR+ to the light, which would be in addition to the power cord. You should have one cord running from the wall to the receiver. The receiver has a captive cord going to the power receptacle on the light. In your case, you should also have a cord running from the receiver to the light. This cord would look like a headphone plug (3.5mm to 3.5mm) on both ends, and go from the side of the receiver to the hole marked "sync" on the light.

There is a square-ish telephone style jack on the light and receiver, but should not be used at this time.

Are you using the 3.5mm cable?

Okay....sorry to seem like a dummy :) Yes, I ran through everything you said and that is exactly how it is set up. Nothing in the telephone cord slot. and I have the sync cord plugged from the light to the CSR+

Oh let me ask you something....if that little cord that goes to the sync on the light was a little bit loose, could that cause the unusual flashing? Maybe it got a little loose in set up?

Still doesn't explain the light ticking noise that it makes but maybe the flashing by itself?

A loose sync cord can cause erratic and spontaneous flashing, especially if the cord were to move.

Ok, for the ticking sound, was this when the flash should have fired, and didn't? Or, was this just every so often?

That was just every so often....it seems to be when it has been on for a while....it is not random...it will just start and tick....with about a minute in between?? It would still fire...just make that noise. soft ticking noise. To answer your question, it was just in between flashes, it was still flashing.

That may be what it was. I changed the bulb and probably pushed the sink cord back in??

Might the ticking noise be the fan? It is the only moving part inside the light, and the only thing I can think of that would make a noise. The fan is thermostatically controlled, and will not run continuously. If the light is running near the threshold of needing the fan, it may kick on and off occasionally.
