It would be great if the f/stop reading matched the number series on the camera.
f/8, 9, 10, 11 ( Not f/8+.3, or 8+.6)
Then just take the reading and dial into camera, no conversion needed.
I know that is not as accurate as .1 stop.
It could be f/9 +
But I cannot set f8.5 into the camera anyway.

Until the firmware is improved can anyone provide a conversion table from CC's decimal stops to 1/3 stops and 1/2 stops?

I found the table below (http://www.riversidecardiology.com/fstop/f-stop.htm) but that does not match some posting I read that f9.0 corresponds to f8+1/3.

there are some pretty good charts here.

Typically, your camera is set to either 1/3 or 1/2 stops. most people do not switch between the two often. 1/3 offers better accuracy as it is smaller increments.

so if your Commander says f2.8'2, then f/3.2 on your camera settings would be the closest. if the Commander said 2.8'5, then f/3.2 or 3.5 would be the closest, one a little higher, one a little lower in exposure.

That said, unless one is mixing ambient with flash, using the bracket flash function of Cyber Commander should allow one to easily set the lights to the nearest full stop after metering. So if you meter f/11.4, you can drop all lights down .4f to f/11 and shoot there (or up .6f to 16).

I checked the tables on Wikipedia and if I understood correctly shouldn't the last statement "(or up .6f to 22)" be "(or up .6f to 16)"?.

Thanks for the explanation. Things are much clearer now.

When using 1/3 stops, we just need to dial in the first 1/3rd if the decimal is .1/.2/.3/.4 and the second 1/3rd if the decimal is above .6/.7/.8/.9

If the decimal is .5 we can choose either one (the first or second 1/3rd).

you would probably round to the closest aperture available. .1f could be rounded down (example f/11'1 could be set to f/11). If you want to be precise, you could click the lights down, so they meter at exactly f/11 or f/11.5. This would be easier than trying to do calculations on the fly. Also, a .15f difference is not a large discrepancy and could be masked by minor tolerance difference in lenses, actual sensor sensitivity, and post production variations.
