I have been using 3 ab800 with my Cyber Commander without any issues. LOVE IT! However, I recently bought an ab1600 and tried to use it this weekend with the other lights and had problems. Specifically, the ab1600 would fire when it was on ab800 channels. Perhaps an example will help.

Channel 1 – ab1600
Channel 3 – ab 800

When taking readings on channel 3, both lights fired. When taking readings on channel 1, only the ab1600 fired.

I tried moving the channels around and the same thing happened. I tried swapping out the receiver, same thing happened. Everything else about the Commander is working as usual.

Any idea what is going on?

Jeff

Is the slave eye enabled on one of the lights? -or-
are you in 'Group' mode on the CC?

What Liquid Rhino said, plus, was the AB1600 properly "opened from ch. X"? and/or was it specified as a AB1600?

Yes, was specified as ab1600 and was opened from channel x. I saved the settings and then opened from eg, SD1.

Was the slave eye locked out? And if so, manually trip the 800 to verify the 1600 is triggering via radio signal and not the slave eye (due to a faulty lock out maechanism). Also, switch the reciever from and back to the channel setting desired, feeling for the detent in the dial. Slightly off can cause the light to trip but not adjust, or adjust and not trip, or possibly ignore the channel designation and act like a standard reciever.

Okay, thanks for the help. I'm out of town and will not be back until Wed night. I will try again on Friday.

You've given me some good stuff to look into. Thanks,

Jeff

Yes, user error. Got home and looked, no sync cord plugged in.

Feeling stupid now,

Jeff
