Since the search appears to be broken...

Can a CSRB+ (or CSRB) be used with the following FlashZebra cable to create a wireless shutter release for a Canon camera, when used with the test button on the CST?

http://flashzebra.com/shutter_pw/0090.shtml

Secondly, if that is the case, can the test button be held for bulb shutter release, or is it limited to just being pressed/released, with camera set shutter speeds?

Thanks in advance,
Jason

Yes, it can. With some caveats. First I recommend a CSRB vs. A CSRB+, as they are more reliable as camera triggers (which is entirely independent from the ability to trigger lights). Second, we reccommend using AF-C or MF. Otherwise the camera will lockfocus wherever it is pointed when the cable is inserted/activated. Lastly, you will get one shot per button push. Continuous firing is not possible with CyberSync.

Thanks for the information. Got the Flash Zebra cable today. I already had a CSRB+, so that is what I tested with.

It works, however, it is just slightly strange how it affects the camera when it is hooked up. In one position of the switch, it allows the camera to auto focus, however, it automatically takes a picture at half shutter release (weird?!). In the other mode, the camera's shutter doesn't work at all, and all control is tied up with the CyberSync receiver, meaning, when the CST button is pressed, it takes a picture, but also does not allow a preview.

This will work for what I need, for the most part, just unplug the CSRB+, setup the camera's focus (manually or auto-then switch to manual focus), plug it in, and you're good to go.

Makes for a cheap remote shutter, when you already have the flash triggers sitting around, just add a $27 cable (which does seem just a bit on the expensive side, for what it is).

I have not seen that before, but cannot say it is abnormal. You may contact FlashZebra

This is normal. the cable with the switch engaged will act like a half press of the shutter button. Any action that is unavailable with the shutter button half depressed will be unavailable with the cord attached and engaged. The switch is there to aloow those other functions without unplugging.

This is due to CyberSyncs being a mono connection, and would occur when using any mono connection. A stereo connection would not work, as typically the camera's half press needs to be made before the shutter can release.
