*Checked the FAQ

Just received my B800. The only thing connected to it is the power cable. It was firing just fine the first few minutes. I turned it off, attached a beauty dish and it stopped working. It will fire occasionally; like once every 20 seconds. None of the lights on the back are on and there's no clicking sound.

Any insights as to what the problem is? And is the power cable suppose to be so loose? it wiggles so much when connected to the strobe.

Just tested the B1600. Set it up exactly how I set the B800 up. Works fine so far. It's looking like I got a faulty unit at this point.

*After a lot of wiggling the socket, I was able to get the OK light to turn on, but I had to hold it in place or it would turn off again. Got one test fire out of it, can't find the spot again. So I guess the sockets messed up?

You might try switching cords with the B1600 so see if the problem follows the cord or the light.

If you are not getting any lights coming on, then do look at the power supply chain, i.e. the power cord, the lamp socket, even the outlet or any extension cords or power strips.

If the lights do come on, but will not flash, inspect the flash tube to ensure it is seated properly.

It's not the cord. Using the B1600 cord was the first thing I tried. Tried a different outlet, same result. The light will not come on. It will flicker slightly when you turn it on (sometimes) but that's about it. If I wiggle it around or pull it halfway out sometimes the OK light will turn on but it will only fire once. Considering this I am fairly confident something is wrong with the prongs on the B800 socket.

If worst comes to worst what do I do? Contact customer service and get a new one? This one just came yesterday so would I be paying any kind of fees? Shipping?

I agree that there is something faulty in the light. One that is that new will be replaced at no charge. Contact Customer Service for full details.
