FWIW, I have not experienced this issue with my mc2's. So it doesn't seem to affect everyone, for whatever reason. I've been very happy with my mc2/einstein combo. Add the VML and it's an amazing system. I just think of them as big speedlights now.

The only issue I've had with the mc2 is changing the flash exposure value in the utility didn't work properly. I sent an email to Ian @ pocketwizard and he sent me some alpha software that seems to work great. I have no regrets and just ordered two more mc2's + einsteins.

Just got my MC2s and am having the same problem. Also, Hypersync does not seem to work at all. As soon as I go past 1/200th of a second on the 5d markII, I get banding. Will email PW about the beta firmware, but does anyone know about how to activate hypersync?

Hypersync will not be as effective with the shorter flash durations of the Einstein. Hypersync works best with longer duration flashes.

Do you work for PW or PCB Eric? The MC2 specifically says that it supports full Hypersync for Einstein, so if it is not supported, they are misrepresenting it...

I don't work for either company. However, I've read enough around here and other places about the limitations of Hypersync and played around with it enough to know what (& why) works best with my 1600's and Einstein (longer flash durations = high sync.)

Full disclosure, I haven't had a chance to put the MC2 through its paces because my 7D has been at Canon for servicing so my observations with the Einstein were from using a sync cable from my TT5 to the unit.

You may need to play with the hypersync offset to get higher sync speeds. There is a good tutorial at:

Regarding Hypersync, visit this link, particularly the notation just above the photos: http://www.pocketwizard.com/inspiration ... nc_fpsync/
