My 3 Einsteins should be here any day.

Which Pelican case should I buy?

If possible, I would like the size that is carry on (with wheels) and fits in the overhead.

Also, what are the dimensions of the Einstein with the plastic safety cap?

Next question:
Can i carry on the mini-Vagabond?

VML can be checked or carried on. VML batteries MUST be carried on.

7" height x 5.4" width x 7.8" length are the demensions of the complete E640. I believe that is with the new shorter shipping cover.

I am trying to figure out the same thing as well. If you find a good case let us know. I didn't find one on their website that looked like it wouldn't be too big or too small.

I have a variety of Pelican cases and let me say upfront not sure I would recommend them, especially for air travel. No matter what size you get their weight always becomes a hassle.

If you're like me with a pickup where you need to have pelican cases I would suggest you look at the 1650 - no it's not a carry on size. Even if I'm only taking three lights I always seem to fill it with modifiers, cords, etc. I also have the 1600 that you might be thinking of however it is too much in the middle not big enough to carry a full amount of gear and the weight savings/size does not justify it - wish I would of just gotten a second 1650 nobody says you have to fill it (anything bigger than the 1650's become ridiculous for simple transport) I have a 1690 that can't wheel though doorways

I doubt today you are going to carry on the 1550s or any wheeled pelican case chance is you are going to be asked to check it at the gate and even if you had three strobe heads in it there would be no room for other essentials like modifiers/cords/beer

Honestly with a little creative thought Walmart, Bass Pro Shop, Home Depot could be an even better solution there are some pretty cool large wheeled tool chests
