Ok. No more about the politics, from either side. It is against the rules. I have to adbide by them, too. Paul owns the company, the domain, and the forum. He can do as he pleases.

You can contact customer service re: returning the lights. Also, if you need portable power, the Profoto BatPac should run our lights as well as the profotos.

Kinduva strange post if you ask me: you are happy with the products, you pre-ordered a product with a known uncertainty on delivery, so it was a risk to order it as a Christmas gift (I wanted to give some PLMs for Christmas, but knew it would not likely work out, so they will be birthday gifts instead...shhh, don't tell anyone I know! )

And now, you read a single post on a private forum by the owner of the company, you cancel orders and want to get rid of all your PCB products? Seems like the only one this will "hurt" is you. You won't have the PCB gear, and alternatives of any quality will cost you a lot more when you replace them.

Buying PCB gear does not mean you agree with, endorse, or even know all the political or moral positions of the owner or staff. It just means you like the gear. I suspect the only person in the world attaching the politics to your gear purchase/ownership is you. If you will sleep better at night, that is of course your choice.

Do you apply this 'standard' to all products you own, purchase? Do you empty your library of books, cds, dvds, stop watching teams when any author, musician, actor, or athlete behaves or speaks contrary to your beliefs or positions?

Certainly I respect your right to make personal choices, and whether you consistently apply those standards, etc., is none of my business.

But what I respect more is the ability to accept that peoples' opinions and positions may differ, and the ability to work around that, find common ground on other issues, perhaps learn something about the "other" view, and the willingness to do this instead of building walls, labeling and dismissing the other.

One of my favorite authors, Ray Bradbury, wrote (I paraphrase since I don't remember the precise wording):

"Isn't that the meaning of life, after all? To go around and look through the other person's eyes and say: "So that's how you see it? That is very interesting! I will have to remember that!"

Notice there is no endorsement, no changing of personal views, just openness and learning.

Whatever you choose to do, I hope it works well for you.

back on topic: I am eagerly awaiting the new Minis, loving my Einsteins (v1), and love my PLMs probably more than I should ;)

That's good, Steve! Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. You must have thought it clever to change Buff to Bluff every time you referred to the company, but you did admit to being overwhelmed with stupidity, so I guess we all must consider the source here...

Thanks for turning a constructive question into a "luny rant" as you put it... Also, thanks for canceling your order; that'll be one less Vagabond that has to ship before I get mine. ;)

This thread is locked. Few, if any, of the posts in this thread fall within the rules of this forum. This forum is for the technical discussions of Paul C. Buff product. While we try to be leinient on posts that do not fit perfectly to this standard (as there are grey areas), we cannot allow bickering back and forth. This is what destroyed the original forum, and it will not destroy this one. If anyone has any technical questions about the Vagabond Mini, please post a new thread.
