@photopat, yes CyberSync and WiFi use frequencies at or near 2.4 GHz, and so does my wireless telephone system and my microwave oven. The only time I see any freq interference is when I use my microwave when trying to use other 2.4 GHz devices. My phone system, WiFi, and CyberSync do not interfere with each other. You are right in stating that it would require more FCC testing though.
So in lieu of a WiFi translator, I think a USB device would be second best. I shoot tethered in the studio with both my Nikon and Phase One cameras so I always have a computer nearby. I think many other pros do as well. I would love to see a USB controlled CyberCommander solution. If there is a way to do this today I would love to hear about it. (RDKirk, to my knowledge my CC does not have a microusb port.) This would open the doors to apps on other devices as well, like the mock-up of this iPad based controller. :)
Note: the app shown is a WiFi MIDI controller (which works very well), shown for demonstration purposes only.
