idaband, we who ordered from PCB AU was told to wait for the V2 instead when found out V1 have problems in 220-230V, since we are working in 220-230V currents. So I think we are automatically converted. No point of taking items which will cause a problems. That's why we waited for Einstein in the first place, the ability to use in 110 & 220 V environments. We don't have the leisure if choosing as to take V1 and send it all back later to V2 because of the shipping cost will be very not economical.

Maybe Alphabug... I just don't know yet. No confirmation on this subject. Have ask Colin/Julie about it. Lucky you mate, already bought other strobe... Can I take your Einstein pre-order instead mate? ;)

It's going to be 30-45 days before PCB have the new parts, start using them and finally they need to ship the new units. You'd likely be looking at the end of the year if in Aus at best if you don't take them now.
Taking mine, will see any issues for myself and "if" required send them back to Colin when the new parts are available for a refit.
Besides, only a small percentage of people seem to be having major issues. If softboxes were falling off every light I'm sure there would be a stampede here with the number of units already gone out.
I'll take the internet with a grain of salt, weigh up the numbers and percentages and take a punt. Worse comes to worse, they get fixed in a couple of months or so. No biggie.
That's what I'm afraid of.... Some of my orders are not available, Vagabound II, 86" Silver PLM V2, etc.... Gotta take what are available first mate... :roll:
