I found some 2 gigs micro cards at Staples.

The brand is Relay, the Staples brand.

I got them for 11.90$ for 2 cards and 1 adapter sd card.

This was Staples Canada but I guess it should be the same in US.

Hope this helps some of you.

For those of you who are putting in a card that is formatted to FAT32 (most commonly used format partition in cameras, usb drives, etc.), you can use this program to help format your card.

It's called Ease US partion master. That's what I used to format my micro sd card for the einstein to detect the new firmware. hope that helps.

Hello,

Found a 2gig standard SD card in a local store... formated in fat with cmd with format x: /fs:fat and nothing seem to work on 3 of our e640. Just the loop and no white blips as stated.
Even tried via bootload, nothing there, just a reboot.

Is there a workaround or something we missed ? Thanks for your answer.

Regards

Occasionally, you will find a card that does not play well, and we are working on eliminating this issue. I am glad you were able to update the lights.

I received a preloaded card from buff headquarters and attempted to load it on 2 of my ver 22 Einsteins today. When following directions sent with the card, card inserted with power plug out of unit, power plug inserted, but not turned on, and the fan just runs at height speed and never loads up, screen always stays black. This same thing happened on both units. I tried it on a newer Einstein, just for fun and it loaded perfectly, so I know my procedure is correct.

What should I do?
Thx
Edit, spelling

Try this:
Turn the light on, then install the card. Press the function button until you get to the diagnostics screen. Arrow down to the BOOTLOAD option, then press function. When the new screen comes on, press the TEST button. The unit should start the bootload function. The screen may or may not go white, but it will likely flicker. Let it run this process for 30 seconds, then turn the unit back on.

Wow, that worked! Thanks
Note: you should include these instructions under the ones included with the firmware card

I resolved the issue I was having similar to the above posts (no blinking screen, and the fan just short cycled when I plugged the disc into the E640).

The brand of disc I was using is "Sandisc 2gb Micro". By chance, it is the SAME disc as the one that is in the CyberComander. I followed the firmware download instructions to the letter with the disc I purchased (not the one from the CC). Plugged it into the E640, again, to the letter of the instructions. Nothing. The screen stayed black / no flickering screen. I followed booth the instructions on PCB, AND the one above.

Frustrated, I took the disc out of the Cyber Commander, named the folder that is for the Cyber commander a different name (to accept the folder for the E640 that is the same name for the CC), and ran through the instructions listed above. It worked. Again, same exact disc brand and model. One disc worked, and the other didn't. On the disc that did not work, I could see that the firmware folder had loaded onto the disc, but it did nothing when I plugged it into the E640.

Don't forget to delete the files for E640 and rename the folder for the Cyber Commander before you plug the disc back into the Cyber Commander. I'm not sure this step is necessary, but...

WHY ISN'T THIS INFO ON THE FIRMWARE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS???
