Yes, any Pocket Wizard transmitting device can trigger the MC2 recievers. This assumes you have frequency compatabile devices (there are seperate versions for FCC and EU usage. If purchased new in the US, you likely have the FCC version, so there should be no conflict).

Everything i own is from the USA...

As of now, only the FCC/US version is available. Pocket Wizard is working on an EU version, however, the details for distribution is not available at this time.

Hi Mr TS

Please let us know as soon as you can on details of the EU version. This is also the final component and am very eager to get them

Thanks

Hi Mr Buff or Mr TS

I have a couple of Einstein's which I love however unfortunately I am one of those you already has a number of PW units.

Quick question for you..Being in Australia my PW use (Europe, India, China, and other countries = 433.62 - 434.22 MHz CE) frequency. Will the MC-2 also ship in this flavor? If so when will it be available? If so will it be the Australian Paul C Buff site I order it from?

Thanks

Andy

As Paul said, Pocket Wizard is working these up, but we do not have any specifics of availablity as of right now.

Thanks

I'm very interested to see the first reports on this from customers. I kinda think a lot of people are going to be disappointed with the HyperSync feature. Reading on the PW website, from the description, it sounds like the old trick of shooting at full power so that your long flash burst acts as a continuous light that lasts through the whole focal plane shutter, lighting the whole frame. Which isn't going to work well with the Einstein since it has such short flash durations. Although maybe at full power, when properly tuned to the camera, the duration is long enough for this to work... but PW explicitly says that longer duration flashes work better for this and they make no guarantees as to how far over your max sync you'll be able to go.

Einstein is not extremely fast at full power. The biggest problem is you will need to use it a full power and wait for recycle to get a little slice of HyperSync flash. On an AB, you can dial down to low power and get a longer flash duration with faster recycle.

I'm not a big fan of HHS in any form . . . rather use a CMOS camera and be able to get the full flash power instead of just a tiny bit of it. Granted, CMOS image quality isn't as good as CCD cameras

Isn't that backwards? Don't the old electronic shutter cameras have CCD and the newer ones are all CMOS sensors?

Anyway, even with the electronic shutter you're not getting full power if the shutter speed is faster than your flash duration. But yeah, it's more efficient than the various hacks.

I'm just going to get a Singh-Ray Vari-ND and be done with it.
