I have been unable to get my Einsteins to fire using TT1/TT5. I mount the TT1 on my camera and connect the TT5 to the Einstein using a 1/8 mono cord.

The status light on the TT5 flashes red and the strobe doesn't fire.

Are there any special settings I need for the TT1 or TT5?

Am I using the wrong cable?

The cable need to be a 1/8" to 1/8" mini mono non-attenuating cord. Thise you get at radio shack are often stereo or atttenuating. If either or both of these apply, you need a different cord. One made specifically for this task would be best, though it is not required.

As for settings, you will need to match channels, which is done via computer. You would need to contact Pocket Wizard for specifics.

Gus2503: I am personally using TT1/TT5 units as well with my Bees and Einsteins. I use mono-sync cables from flashzebra.com (they have varying lengths).

As far as configuration of the TT1 and TT5, make sure toggle off "Control TL" the receiving channel on the TT5. You will be using the Standard channels when controlling the Einstein using a TT1 transmitter and TT5 transceiver, generally.
