Had a cable from a previous remote system and thought I'd see if I could make it work with my PCB remote system.

Eureka! It works. 90% of the time.

For whatever reason it'll work fine, then not work for a couple of times.

I realize that the CSRB+ was not designed to be a camera remote.

Any ideas why there would be an inconsistency to it's ability to trip the camera?

BTW, this setup gives me a 150'+ cable release.

We have found the CSRB+'s tend to be less compatabile with some cameras vs. the CSRB versions, for some reason. Your specific situation could be that the camera is right on the threshold for the close time of the remote. Or it could be a camera setting. If possible, select: auto review=off, release priority, manual focus (for trouble shooting purposes at least).

If this is something you want to do frequently, you may consider a CSRB over a CSRB+
