I have used my two Einsteins 4 times, the second time the modeling light stopped working and today the flash tube quit. Does anyone know how to change these, I will have to order some first, I guess. I'm disappointed in the this and the fact that it will now cost me more money after I just bought them in November and this one burnt out after 4 uses.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The flash tube and modeling light can be replaced very easily but it sounds like you may have an issue beyond the lamps simply going bad. Tech support will help you trouble shoot what is going on. If you have a V1 it will be replaced with a V2 anyway (for free). Also, I believe that the flash tube, but not the modeling lamp, are covered under the 2-year factory warranty.

To get the lamps out start by removing the glass dome held by the spring clips. The modeling lamp comes out by gently pushing in and turning. When replacing the modeling lamp make sure to wear gloves or use a cotton cloth to keep oils from your hand off of the lamp. The flash tube comes out by gently prying / pulling the three pins out of their sockets. You should probably check out the Einstein manual before you pull the lamps (in case I forgot anything).

Both the flash tube and model lamps went out on both units? Are you getting a green ready indicator on the back panel? Have you tried various output settings on the flash to see if it works at the high or low end, but not the other?

Thanks for the info, I changed the modeling light and it was definitely burnt out. The Flash tube, I'm going to replace today and see what happens. These things are hard to put in, I broke one by putting pressure on it, to make it slide into place, one in place I notice the glass was broke.

I'm have a hell of a time getting these flash tubes in with out breaking them. I have to apply so much pressure to get them to slid into the holes. Anyone try doing this yet? Does anyone have any way that works simply when doing this? I feel like I'm performing surgery.

It has to be done carefully . . . wiggle and rock. The fit is quite snug purposely to prevent arcing.
